Learn about how our adventure first started
Hien Ho, an insightful 11-year-old boy from Modesto California, found inspiration in canvas backpacks adorned with permanent art at a skate park. This sparked an idea to create erasable canvas backpacks that would help students overcome anxiety through art and promote success in academics and life. This innovative creation, inspired by his imagination, has captured the hearts of children, parents, and educators, offering a canvas for self-expression that can refreshed endlessly.
Engaging the School Community: School districts such as Modesto City Schools, Patterson Unified, and Waterford Unified, along with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA, have implemented this transformative program with Chalkwild backpacks.
Hien’s cultivated creativity, confidence, problem-solving, and presentation skills as a ChalkWild creator and co-founder contributed significantly to his success. Alongside his friend Austin, they secured a Bronze Medal in the Interactive Game Design Category at the SkillUSA California State Competition in April 2024. Recognized by elected leaders.
